Insurance

Brookside Anxiety is considered an “out of network” practice. Our practice does not submit to insurance, or participate in any health insurance or managed care company plans. However, many insurance companies will offer out of network mental health benefits so it is highly advised that you contact your insurance and ask about these benefits. You can absolutely use FSA and HSA cards to pay for services. You can independently submit claims to your insurance to determine reimbursement.

A statement will be provided at the end of each appointment that should include all information necessary to receive reimbursement from your insurance company. You may submit this statement to your insurance company and/or save it for your financial records. If planning to submit to insurance, it is recommended that you contact your insurance company in advance to verify that your benefits include out-of-network coverage. You will then be reimbursed directly by your insurance company based on the terms of your policy.

Brookside Anxiety is not a covered provider for either Medicare or Medicaid. In such circumstances, patients must forego the use of these benefits for our services and will not be eligible to independently file claims.

A Note On Out-Of-Network Services

While the fee for out of network services may initially be higher, benefits of out-of-network psychotherapy services include:

  • The ability to develop an individualized treatment plan with your therapist (e.g., length, intensity, and type of therapy) based on clinical need and evidence-based practice as opposed to regulated protocols imposed by third party payers

  • The choice to not involve any third parties in billing or paperwork

  • An investment in evidence-based treatment that most often reduces or even eliminates the need for such services over time, often resulting in lower out-of-pocket costs in the long run

  • See more information on our No Surprises Act and out-of-network fees.

Cancellation and No Show Policy

Cancellation of intake appointments with less than 72 hours notice will result in a $100 fee.

For appointments following the intake, 24 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule appointments. Less notice will result in a $50 fee the first time. Subsequent late cancellations will incur the full charge of the scheduled session. No shows (missing an appointment without notice) will be charged the full scheduled session fee. Repeated late cancellations or no shows may result in your treatment being terminated.

Privacy Practices

Brookside Anxiety takes your privacy very seriously. You can read our privacy practices here.

Technology and Social Media

E-mail can be a useful means of communication, particularly for scheduling and brief questions. Our providers check e-mails once daily Monday through Friday, so you can expect a response within 24 hours. We do not check e-mails on weekends. As such, matters requiring immediate attention are better addressed by a call.

Brookside Anxiety does not use text messaging in our practice for privacy and reliability reasons.

Our providers maintain several professional social media accounts and we welcome you to follow us. We do not, however, connect with patients through personal accounts (e.g., does not accept Facebook friend requests, does not follow patients through Twitter).
