Children and Teens

It is never too early to benefit from cognitive-behavioral strategies. Therapy with children and adolescents requires a provider with training in child development and who understands the importance of family and school enviornments. I am trained as a pediatric psychologist and have worked with children as young as three years old. Anxiety can be developmentally normative. However, when it creates problems or is particularly distressing, it is time to learn skills and parenting strategies to help manage it.

While I bring clinical and developmental knowledge, you are the expert on your child. Parents are highly involved in a collaborative therapy process, and with very young children sessions may be primarily parent-coaching. I work to help parents feel ready and able to coach, adovocate, and support their child.

Tweens and adolescents often benefit from space to discuss thoughts and feelings without parents present, which I am happy to provide. With that said, parents continue to be highly involved, with each session including a parent check-in. I always keep parents informed about treatment strategies and progress.

I routinely collaborate with schools and other providers to provide the best possible comprehensive care. Let’s create a team of people working together to help your child thrive.

Home, School & Community Sessions

Let’s get creative and do what is needed. It isn’t always easy to translate strategies from the therapy office to your daily life. As an out-of-network provider I have the flexibility to do whatever is needed for my clients which can include sessions at home, school, or the park.
