Nick Lazeckhko

I am a Counselor-in-Training specializing in OCD and anxiety disorders and am supervised by Dr. Heather Smith. I have 5 years of experience working with OCD and anxiety and am passionate about helping clients overcome the negative symptoms associated with anxiety disorders.

This work is personal to me. I grew up with OCD myself, and I know firsthand what it's like to live with it — the exhausting cycles, the self-doubt, and what it feels like finally finding tools that actually work. That lived experience shapes how I show up for my clients: with genuine empathy, without judgment, and with real hope that things can get better.

I believe effective therapy is both evidence-based and deeply personal. My approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with treatment centered around Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and integrated ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Let's figure out what's getting in your way and build the tools to move through it. I pride myself on being genuine, practical, and meeting you exactly where you are.

I have a specialized background as a school psychologist, which has given me the unique privilege of working directly with children, adolescents, and young adults navigating OCD and anxiety disorders in the place they spend most of their time — school. That experience now informs my work, where I bring a deep understanding of how anxiety shows up in real, everyday life. For families with school-age children, I offer hands-on guidance navigating the school system. Whether that means understanding how to access accommodations, connecting with supports, or bridging the gap between home and school, I'm here to help families advocate effectively.

When I'm not in session, you'll likely find me outside or making music — two things that keep me grounded and remind me why balance matters.
